Welcome in German Pet Friendly

In the purest Gothic style, the chapel was built between 1250 and 1270 next to his house, by the knight Simon de Hombourg for domestic and private use, within the perimeter of Ritterburg, a fortified distance from the castle. Around the chapel were the buildings of the Ritterbourg or Knights' Castle. With its towers and its rampart it constituted the extreme part of the large medieval castle. Its base served as a burial vault. Restored several times throughout its history, in 1706, 1897 and 1986, the chapel is renowned for its quality decoration. The chapel was classified as a Historic Monument in 1895 under German authority and then again in 1930. Except for guided tours, visible only from the outside (open during guided tours from the Tourist Office).
