Welcome in German Pet Friendly

Overlooking the Rosselle valley, a long hill with steep sides gives Hombourg-Haut a very particular appearance. The silhouettes of the houses hugged by the old fortifications evoke the brilliant past of the old city. Jacques de Lorraine, bishop of Metz, established there in the middle of the 1240th century (from 1581) a powerful castle and a collegiate church of thirteen canons. Many wars shook Hombourg-l'Evêque before its attachment in 2,5 to the Duchy of Lorraine. The city center called Old Hombourg still demonstrates its splendor through its dominant position and its flattering heritage. It is in Hombourg that we find one of the strongest and most interesting heritage concentrations in the Pays de la Rosselle, and even in Lorraine-Est. Its monuments still bear witness to the glories of yesteryear. To visit Hombourg, simply follow the directions for the walking circuit (XNUMX km) from Place Jacques de Lorraine (Le Hêtre Pourpre retirement home). The tour circuit is available at the Tourist Office or at the sites.
